Message from the Mayor
Six hundred inhabitants in the last census: the village grows and modernizes itself... Its rural multiple, little grocecy and bakery, its public services, its craftsmans, a pharmacy, a medical office, architecture studio, restaurant "Les Meulières, its rentals and utilities are all assets to welcome you. Besides the olive and almond trees, vines remains the main crop of La Livinière. Due to its exceptional terroir and micro-climate, winemakers benefit from AOC "Minervois La Livinière".
You will visit the Basilica of Notre-Dame du Spasme and St Stephen's Church. While strolling in the village, you will appreciate the castle walls as well as our indoor market and the famous fountain with dolphins from 1888 and recently restored.
Our narrow streets and fresh summer appreciated by walkers, are all assets for this wine village to get away a little.
Guests can borrow two strolls pedestrian circuits: 7 kms from Lauziès trail and the circuit of Lime kilns of 11 km, without forgetting the path of "Pierre à pain" (ancient old bread quarry millstones).
Through these paths, you will appreciate the vines that give a rich and generous wine, which can be enjoyed in eighteen independent winegrowers and the wine cooperative.
Do not forget to check the calendar of events of the village which I hope will seduce you.
Enjoy your stay in La Livinière!
The Mayor, Pierre-André PEDESSEAU
